Lawyers for Life encourages legislators, lawyers, professional and the general public to defend and protect human life at all stages. We carry out our mission in three ways. First, by education; we present pro-life speakers at our quarterly meetings and discuss current legislative issues affecting life. The majority of our events offer continuing legal education. Second, through publication; we contact entities that do not appear to respect life and encourage them to recognize its intrinsic value and need for legal protection. Third, by service; Lawyers for Life responds to inquiries on life and legal topics from numerous organizations, donates to life-supporting entities and participates in Hands of Hope, a network of northeast Ohio organizations that promote the culture of life in our communities.

We believe all pro-life lawyers are uniquely situated to influence those around them with the Truth. Lawyers for Life strives to better equip those lawyers, at our meetings, with skills and tools to do this important work.

In the past, Lawyers for Life has offered CLE on Advanced Directives (Health Care Powers of Attorney v. Living Wills), Euthanasia, Ohio’s Death Statute, Adoption, Abortion law in Ohio, Embryonic v. Adult Stem Cell Research, Legalities of Sidewalk Counseling, and Tax Considerations for Tax-Exempt Organizations. (See “Past Events” ) We have presented speakers on the international status of abortion (Human Life International, Father Thomas Euteneuer) and efforts by Catholic priests here in the United States (Priests for Life, Father Frank Pavone). We have also assisted in preparing and filing amicus briefs to the Ohio Supreme Court on Life Issues.
